Wherever your mind goes, your Qi follows. This sentiment is one that we love and use often in our practice.
It’s another way of saying that what you focus on, grows. And to us, it makes sense to focus on the good things. Here at Yinova, we are most grateful for the community that all of us – patients, practitioners, and administrators – have created together.
This year has been stressful, to say the least, and we are inspired by our patients’ resilience and strength. We really are blessed to be able to support you all.
From Yinova Founder, Jill Blakeway:
“In a shaky world, I find it helps to surround myself with people who are working to make other people’s lives better. So this year I’m grateful for community and, in particular, our community at Yinova. It’s good to have a supportive team beside you, whether it’s your family, friends, or colleagues.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Sonia Lee:
“Fall gives us lots of good colors in nature and those good colors are everywhere. Some are still on the branches, some have fallen on the ground, everywhere we go, we see them and it makes me so grateful to see an amazing nature. Those beautiful scenes made you naturally appreciate others and be thankful for what you do for your community. I am also grateful even though we can’t change nature the way we planned but always need to follow the natural way the Earth goes, I can be able to help so many people in a healthy way no matter what the environment brings us. I am happy to work together in a safe and fantastic group of amazingness at Yinova, and like season changes, I would like to keep growing and show my best within it. I am very thankful for my family, friends, colleagues, patients, and students.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Anna Kreitzer:
“I really have so much to be grateful for. Considering the magnitude of loss many of us have experienced in recent years, just being here feels like a gift. I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support I feel from my family, friends, and partner that makes my life so meaningful. And how could I fail to mention Cash, my best friend on four legs, for whom I’m forever grateful! I’m also so very thankful and excited to have joined the team at Yinova this year – a special bow of gratitude goes out to my teachers and mentors who continue to support me on this journey. I feel lucky to have the ongoing opportunity to study this medicine, which continues to teach me more about myself than I could have imagined.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Thea McCallion:
“I continue to feel enormous gratitude to be able to serve others and to do so in a caring community like we have at Yinova – one that supports me to be all that I am, all that I am not and all that I may become. In these uncertain times, this kind of support is more important than ever. Also, to wake each day to the changing seasons reminds me that movement and change are part of the cycles of nature, and of life. I feel grateful that I am well, to be able to keep moving and be part of the flow.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Su-Jung Lee:
“With a constantly evolving world, I am grateful for our work at Yinova and the constant willingness of the organization and people within to adapt for everyone’s benefit. And my gratitude for what Nature has to teach us is ever-expanding and with this, I gain the widest perspective that allows me to take things as they come. And with all this, the greatest joy is to have friends, family, and community to share our constant evolution. This year, I also have two new celestial beings to be grateful for, Surya & Chandra, our Sun & Moon. Happy to be amongst People-and-Animal loving aligned souls!”
From Yinova Practitioner, Daryl Thuroff:
“It’s a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in the broken world. – Mary Oliver. For me, this quote is such a great reminder of where gratitude starts. A deep breath and a smile. My snoring dog Jakey boy at the foot, ok sometimes sprawled across the entire bed. The ability to help others in such a profound way. To have the love of family, friends, and colleagues. To bring people together in good health of mind, body, and spirit…Even in a world full of tumult, as my grandma Sylvia would say, there is still so much to be grateful for. Much love and many blessings for us all.”
From Yinova’s Financial Controller, Chris Farrell:
“I am especially thankful this year to have met my new friend Jim. I never expected, now that I am past 60, that I would encounter someone and immediately feel the deepest possible connection, and I was so very fortunate to have this experience in a time when we are all suffering from multiple losses… I feel like the universe has given me a precious gift, and I can’t imagine having anything sweeter than this friendship to savor.”
From Yinova’s Chief Executive Officer, Liz Henning:
“I’m inspired by and grateful for the community at Yinova. Everyone – from our practitioners to our admin team to our patients – shows up for each other and uses their energy to heal and make each other’s lives better. It is remarkable to be a part of it! I’ve also been refocusing on small moments and have been recently thankful for drinking coffee on a sunny day by the water, seeing my toddler learn to build something new, and getting a random call from a college friend that I’ve missed.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Kelsey Tangel:
“I’m most grateful for my six-month-old son Arlo. Being with him makes time slow down and keeps me very present because every day he changes so much. Watching him develop new skills and engage with the world around him brings me deep joy. He amazes me and I love the tiny person he is.”
From Yinova’s Marketing Coordinator, Emelyn Daly:
“I am grateful this year for my fabulous new friends at Yinova and for the warm welcome I’ve received coming into this special community! I’m grateful to be part of a team that helps the world heal, and to share that authentic spirit of positivity with people near and far, like my baby nephews, for instance! I’m SO grateful that I got to bake cookies with them this morning and that we get to spend the rest of the holiday making up stories and games together.”
From Yinova’s Director of Operations, Kimmel Yeager:
“I am grateful for this past fall. It was the most beautiful Autumn… and I had so many opportunities to enjoy the Poconos, Catskills, and Upstate New York this year. I saw all the fall foliage, had beautiful hikes, drank the best cider, and just had a really magical time”
From Yinova’s Director of Marketing, Emma Thake:
“I’m grateful that I still have plenty to be grateful for. This year has been incredibly difficult and I know many have really suffered because of that. I’m grateful to have my health; I’m grateful to be surrounded by supportive and empowering people at work; I’m grateful for my cute dog who gives the best cuddles… I’m also grateful for this task of sharing what I’m grateful for.”
From Yinova Practitioner, Lilianne Atlihan:
“I have a daily practice of cultivating gratitude for everything that allows me to do good work in the world. It’s easy to feel gratitude for my family, my coworkers, my own good health. But I’m also grateful for the challenging experiences that give me the opportunity to practice patience and cultivate discernment. I’m deeply grateful for every day, and the opportunities it presents to show up for others and myself.”
From Yinova Clinic Director, Mary Hamawy:
“This year, what tops my gratitude list is the vaccine for the under-12 set! It’s a game-changer for my 4th grader and her pals, and seeing them step out with a little more confidence after all the uncertainty of the past 20 months… It’s a glorious thing!”
From Yinova’s Chief Clinic Director, Noah Rubinstein:
“I have more to be grateful for than I can imagine, but I do know that nature is where it all begins for me. The things I am most grateful for are tied to the earth – its rhythms and the relationships that connect us all to each other and the planet.”
